Fronted by the twin voices of Hayley Smith and Loulou Barry, Bristol’s Rozelle have already had a pretty impressive year, and by the sound of things they’re just getting started. The band headlined the opening night of The Great Escape, and Bristol’s Harbour festival, as well as playing high-profile lots across a festival laden summer, which took in Truckfest, Dot-to-Dot, YNot and more. Having cultivated a burgeoning fanbase, the band have headed into the studio to begin putting that live momentum onto record, and today we’re delighted to share the first single from those sessions, Crystalised.
Described by Hayley Smith as, “the firestarter”, Crystalised certainly hints at a band capable of impressive things in 2017. Their take on glitchy alt-pop, takes in sweet vocal harmonies, rolling bass lines and lightly jazzy drums, creating a sound that’s poppy enough for a major breakthrough, but complex and intriguing enough for the alternative crowd to latch onto. Crystalised might just be the start for Rozelle, a band who look destined for far bigger things.
Crystalised is out November 21st. Click HERE for more information on Rozelle.
