Firm favourites on this site, Leeds’ garage-rock trio Nervous Twitch released their excellent third album, I Won’t Hide, on Odd Box Records back in October. Their first album as a trio, I Won’t Hide pushed Nervous Twitch’s sound in new direction, equal parts polished 1960’s Girl Group and fuzzed, up 1980’s New Wave Punk. With a run of live dates on the horizon, this week the band are releasing their latest single, Promised Me The World, and today we’re premiering the accompanying video.

Described by the band as, “a rallying cry against the promise breakers, time wasters, users and abusers of the world”, Promised Me The World is Nervous Twitch at their slinky-surf-punk best. Propelled by a superb, strutting bass-line and twanging, fuzzed-up guitars, the track finds singer Erin, venting at an unidentified let down, “every time you disappoint me, how is it that you always let me down?”
As infectious, energetic and exciting as the band have ever sounded, Promised Me The World is the very best of Nervous Twitch, and band who shine out as one of the crown jewels of the UK’s thriving DIY-Scene.
