[PREMIERE] Sailing Stones – She’s A Rose

Saling Stones is the pseudonym of half Irish, half Swedish songwriter, Jenny Lindfors. Based out of Bristol, Jenny has already received plenty of attention with singles The Blazing Sun and Telescopes turning the heads of bloggers and radio DJ’s the world over. The debut Sailing Stones’ EP  is due in February next year, and today we’re premiering the title track, She’s A Rose.

The track is a beautiful exercise in spare production; Jenny accompanied by a backing of shimmering guitar chords, light jazzy drums, wheezy woodwind and rich flourishes of distant backing vocals. The track was inspired by a quote by Cuban writer, Anaïs Nin who said, “the risk to remain tight in a bud became more painful than the risk it took to blossom”, this is recreated in the songs lyrical thread which explores the path of overcoming painful experiences and allowing yourself to put them behind you. With a sound that fuses the classic-pop of Fleetwood Mac with the experimental leanings of tUnE-yArDs, She’s A Rose is Sailing Stones at her most creative, tuneful and intriguing. With the accompanying EP on the way, she might just be one of 2018’s brightest new stars.

She’s A Rose is out in February. Click HERE for more information on Sailing Stones.

  1. Reblogged this on The M4MAC Blog and commented:
I stumbled across Jenny Lindfors’ first (and to date only album) about nine year back. Still play it. It’s on iTunes. Loving this new song and looking forward to the new release – enjoy!
