Back in 2015, Milk Crimes impressed many on the DIY-scene with their self-titled EP, and then since then, well we’ve not heard an awful lot from the Leeds-quartet. That all comes to an end this Friday with the release of the appropriately titled EPII, due out on 7″ vinyl via Everything Sucks Music. Discussing the EP, Simon from the band has described it as, “a sequel, but one that’s better than the original, a bit like Terminator 2, which is one of my favourite films”.
Today we’re premiering our favourite track from the EP, Anna. Discussing the track Simon has suggested it is, “one of the happiers ones”, on an EP that’s largely about, “the struggles of maintaining friendships while being sad”. The track was written while cycling, and, in their own words, “it’s about brains”.
Muiscally, it’s a typically energetic slice of power-chord driven punk, a must for fans of Martha or Happy Accidents. Energetic drums are overlain with layers of guitar thrashing and empassioned vocal howls. All in all it’s a welcome return for the band, conclusive proof that not all sequels suck!
EP II is out November 2nd via Everything Sucks Music. Click HERE for more information on Milk Crimes.
