[PREMIERE] Halfalib -Arythmie Du Soleil

Any band whose first announcement is that they’re travelling half way around the globe to play at South By South West is a band worth keeping an eye on. That’s exactly what Milan’s Halfalib did, and so far that’s the only detail they’ve shared with the world. You may well ask just what are these Italian mavericks playing at, and well we don’t really know – but we do know that today we’ve got the exclusive premiere of a rather wonderful new single, Arythmie Du Soleil, which we think is French for Arrhythmia of the Sun, or possibly Arthritis of the Sun.

Whilst we don’t know who Halfalib are, we do know they sound great. Arythmie Du Soleil is a perfectly mellow single; light jazzy percussion, unnerving electronics and warm, woozy saxophones seem to wash in and out of earshot, as the vocal and the omnipresent piano, pick out a wistful melody. There’s a touch of Lionlimb or Chris Cohen in this articulate take on beautiful hazy-pop music. With a single this good, and an album coming out next month on the always excellent Italian label, We Were Never Being Boring, we’re quietly confident we’ll be finding out a lot more about Halfalib soon.

Malamocco is out via We Were Never Being Boring on February 24th, you can order it HERE (Europe) or HERE (USA).  Halfalib plays SXSW in March, click HERE for all upcoming dates.
